I just had to share my exultation that last night's "try out" of GONE-AWAY LAKE was a success!! The boys were a bit skeptical when I suggested it as our next read aloud... "I want something with a mystery in it. Or wizards," someone muttered. After my pitch, they finally agreed to "one chapter with rights of refusal."
Well, if you've read it, you won't be surprised that it was approved unanimously. I think we all laughed the hardest at Foster's "Jupiter" non sequitur on the train.
